Veeraiah Hiremath is a social worker, writer, and marathon athlete from Raichur District, Uttar Karnataka. He relocated to Bangalore in 2007 and has been residing in Nayandahalli since 2010. He has participated in over 27 races, ranging from 3KM to 42.195KM, and completed the marathon distance in an impressive 2:41:32 hours.

Alongside his athletic achievements, he has actively engaged in various social initiatives, including organizing free health check-up and treatment camps, and contributing to environmental causes.

Social Service to the Society

With the support of 6378 people, on 16th January 2023, wrote a letter to the department of the Railway for the stoppage of additional trains at the railway station of Nayandahalli. Within two months, trains might be stopped.
With the support of Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute conducted a free ENT check-up and Treatment camp on 1st November 2022 at Nayandahalli in Bangalore. - For Video Click here

With the support of BBMP, successfully planted 2500 saplings on the main road and crossroads of our Nayandahalli and Gangondanahalli between the period of September and November 2022.
With the support of the government, the dental college and research institute conducted a Dental check-up and treatment camp in June 2022. - For photos click here
With the help of Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology Cancer Research and Training Center, conducted a Cancer detection and treatment camp on 20th February 2022 at Nayandahalli in Bangalore.
During winter, blankets were distributed to needy people in -2021 and 2022.
Two-time Blood donation camps were conducted at Nayandahalli in Bangalore.
During the lockdown time of Corona, distributed 45,000 (forty-five thousand) food packets for needy people, and many social activities were done.
I was instrumental in getting the eligible amount of RS.1, 00,000 from the Excise Department after the death of parents of minor-aged children who consumed illicit liquor (Adulterated Alcohol/Kallbatti Alcohol).

Served three HIVs affected Patients who were bedridden and struggling life and death for about a month by providing food and medicine till their death ceremony.
With my own expense, I worked for a Drama Artist suffering from TB and AIDS (spent taxi bill to take him to the Hospital/ paid hospital bill/ medicine...,) till his death and arranged for the funeral with the help of the public.
Instrumental in stopping thousands of loads of building debris from being thrown into the Jnana Bharathi Campus, Bangalore University, Bangalore.
Contacted the area MLA & convinced him to visit the Water-Logged Area, part of Nayandahalli Ward no 131.
Participated in a program arranged by Vijaya Karnataka daily newspaper with the Bangalore Mayor and made her visit Nayandahalli to resolve the following with the help of a Local Corporator and MLA:

Road Repair
Sanitary Overflowing
Opening of Drinking Water Kiosk
Digging of New Borewell
Pothole Filling
New Waste Collection Bins

Stoppage of illegal transportation of sand from Vrishabhavathi and Bio-Park of Bangalore University with the help of Prof T J Renuka Prasad and Media.
Contacted Forest Officers to control Sandalwood theft in and around Bangalore University, Sports Authority of India Campus Bangalore.
Working on the Bangalore University Land Encroachment to retrieve back and protect the University land.
Working for the stoppage of the contamination flow to Water Bodies of Bio-Park in Bangalore University.
Working for the Safety and Health aspects of security guards, Hostel students through RTI.
Worked for Mosquito control in and around the NayandHalli area with the help of BBMP, Bangalore.
With my own expense, I helped more than 100 students who were not doing well in their examination by offering free tuition classes to score more than 75%.
I have given the bicycle to a needy student.
Donated blood to the cancer patient with the help of Bescom and Bangalore University Students.

Leadership Quality

In the year of 2010, I was the Student Union General Secretary of the Government Science College, Nrupathunga Road, Bangalore 560001.
I, as a Student Union General Secretary, successfully stopped collecting money from students to sign on the Journals like Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology at the Government Science College N.T Road Bangalore.
I, as a Student Union General Secretary, succeeded students in getting sports money from the Physical Director (Government Science College N.T Road Bangalore) with the help of the Directorate of Collegiate Education, cash was given by Sampangiramanagara Corporator Mr. Gopi.
I, as a Student Union General Secretary, honoured the students who won the prizes in the Drama Competition.
Worked for an M.Sc. Lady student to get cancer treatment (amount collected by students, College Staff and one Urdu teacher all together Spent 90,000 for treatment).
Successfully conducted Science Day with the Department of Chemistry, Govt Science College, Bangalore, and in collaboration with Vignana Parishat.
I was the Chief Guest of Bangalore University and the Gulbarga University Inter-collegiate sports meet.
